Part 1: An Introduction to Individual Heath Care Planning (IHCP)
Participants will gain an insight in to the legal context, national and local perspectives, the SENCo flow chart which supports planning and the parts that could make up an IHCP.
Part 2: Assessing Risk: Identifying barriers and mitigating risks.
Participants will be guided to create an individual risk assessment as a working document
Part 3: Producing an Individual Health Care Plan (IHCP)
How to produce school based Individual Healthcare Plans for specific pupils, using casestudies and LOIS proformas. Explore roles and responsibilities of staff, the management of risk and practical management on a day to day basis.
Part 4: Planning for Emergency Evacuation
Participants will consider their own setting context to plan for the additional support some pupils might need during evacuation. (Please note: this is in addition to the statutory duties all schools have to plan for emergency evacuation of all staff and pupils)
Part 5: Managing Personal Care Needs
The LOIS team will share some examples of good practice and model Personal Care Needs Plan (PCN)

A course which covers both the theory and practical elements of moving and handling in school settings. The course aims to raise awareness of relevant moving and handling legislation; To understand basic principles of anatomy and posture and safe back care ;To understand the principles and purpose of risk assessment; To reinforce good handling techniques and safe practice ;To gain knowledge and confidence in managing the needs of pupils with moving and handling support needs.
An Introduction to Inclusive PE Workshop
An Inreach afterschool workshop offered at Lancasterian school by PE lead staff. The session will focus on general PE inclusion strategies and signpost to further training. There will be an opportunity to ask questions related to school settings and individual pupil inclusion. Contact us for more details.
Tech Clinic
An inreach afterschool clinic at Lancasterian school offered to support mainstream schools with general access to writing and recording queries, using ICT equipment and software. Individual pupil assessments can be conducted at this session following the usual referral process. Contact us for more details.
