The Lancasterian School’s support group meets informally every Tuesday morning. The support group’s purpose is to provide a forum for mutual support within the school, and as such we invite all parents, carers, friends and family members to attend whenever they can. The objectives of our group are as follows:

  • To help parents and carers support each other with advice and experience.
  • To share information that will help your child and family.
  • To support the school with fundraising ideas and charity events.
  • To allow parents and carers some time to unwind with relaxing events.

Our support group is led by Stacey O’Sullivan, one of our teaching assistants, but various members of our staff attend the support groups. They’re always happy to help, so feel free to bring up any questions, queries or worries with them. All are welcome, so please feel free to pop along!

My role as Parent Support Advisor (PSA) is to support Parent/Carers with issues on general needs eg general information, housing concerns, benefit advice, Parenting & Family Support Service, attendance at school, lias between Parent/Carers and school, emotional support for Parents/Carers, helping with application forms, making telephone calls on their behalf and making referrals to agencies and services. As a PSA I work with an open door policy so Parents/Carers can call in to see me anytime.
