Lancasterian school’s mission is to enable personal development and create educational opportunities for all of the pupils in our care. Our beliefs, mission and pledges are key to providing this vital role within our community.
Our Beliefs
We believe that every single pupil has the right to control his or her own life, and that he or she should be able to share the opportunities, challenges and enjoyment of everyday life with their peers.
We believe that care, concern and respect for people and their human rights is central to our school and the wider community.
We also believe that people who experience disability may be disadvantaged by the attitudes of people at home, in school, in the community and in government.
We believe that it is our mission to minimise that disadvantage.
Our Mission
We exist to help our pupils enjoy a flexible, fulfilling and rewarding education, tailored to their individual needs, requirements and aspirations.
Our wide range of activities and services respond to the needs, choices and rights of individuals in the context of the National Curriculum and other contemporary issues.
We create educational opportunities and personal development through a combination of education, therapy and skilled care for pupils, families and carers alike.
Our Pledge
We pledge to uphold the highest standards of honesty, integrity, professionalism and commitment to the children and families who we exist to serve.
We pledge to recognise good practice and reward creative and innovative work wherever we find it.
We pledge to establish equality of opportunity for the development of not only our pupils, but also our staff and volunteers.
