Lancasterian Specialist School for Communication & Interaction is a 3-16yr community special school situated in West Didsbury, Manchester.  Our school provides a quality, inclusive education for pupils with physical difficulties, severe medical conditions and communication needs.

The staff at Lancasterian strive to provide challenging, enjoyable and enriching learning experiences at all times.  The team are dedicated to enabling pupils to achieve their potential. We believe that every single pupil has the right to control his or her own life, and share opportunities, challenges and experiences with their peers.  We pledge to serve the children, families, and carers we work with in an honest, professional and committed manner.

 

Lancasterian pupils engage fully in the life of school and the local community and make excellent progress in academic and personal development.  Pupils of all ages have opportunities to attend:

residentials 

educational visits

local and national sports competitions

projects with mainstream pupils in school

placements in mainstream schools

Working together, this dedicated team of enthusiastic pupils and staff create a warm, welcoming atmosphere which every visitor comments on.

 

Lancasterian parents/carers/families engage fully in the life of the school through:

supporting pupils on transition visits

participating in ‘play & stay’ events

attending Parents Evenings and Annual Reviews

helping with homework activities

communicating through the home school diary

attending special assemblies

supporting on school trips

volunteering to help in school

being a supporter of ‘Friends of Lancs’

helping at events like the Christmas & Summer Fairs

Our website aims:
